An aging and mute rodeo clown struggles between macabre dreams and reality.

George, the inebriate night porter at the Hotel Splendide, develops a series of increasingly outlandish suspicions about Billy and Percy, two guests who have arrived separately yet claim to be a married couple and demand to share a room together.

Jon Porter has a bizarre and uncontrollable power: the ability to teleport whenever he uses the restroom. His power hasn't gone undetected, however. A group of agents from a secret government organization known as Department 24 have noticed him and are seeking to capture him. He struggles to stay one step ahead of them while navigating a series of increasingly awkward situations.

Comedy in which a bungling railway worker is given the job of stationmaster at a rundown station in rural Ireland, where his sidekicks are a toothless old gaffer and a portly young loudmouth. Hilarious adventures ensue, including a locomotive chase after gunrunners make off with a train. With the help of a relative, a hopeless railway employee is made stationmaster of Buggleskelly. Determined to make his mark, he devises a number of schemes to put Buggleskelly on the railway map, but instead falls foul of a gang of gun runners.

Wagoner showcased other country artists and performed his own songs in this long-running series, which boosted the career of various country performers, including Dolly Parton.

In 1948, a fan letter arrived for director Roberto Rossellini from Ingrid Bergman, one of Hollywood’s biggest stars; after a meeting in New York, Rossellini invited Bergman to Italy to work on a project. Meanwhile, Anna Magnani, one of Italy’s biggest stars and Rossellini’s longtime lover, was furious. When the Rossellini/Bergman project was announced as a tale set on Stromboli, one of the volcanic Aeolian Islands, Magnani quickly set up her own Aeolian project, financed by Hollywood, to be called Volcano. Italy’s tabloids simply went wild: the prospect of these two great divas battling it out with rival productions was breathlessly followed, especially as it became clear that the Rossellini/Bergman relationship was more than professional. Francesco Patierno has created an engrossing, revealing and highly entertaining chronicle of this cinematic battle royal.
